Mr. Watanabe

BSKBで翻訳のお仕事をしている渡辺さんという方がいます。オークウッドのアパート契約の際に大変お世話になりました。渡辺さんは、単身でワシントンに来られて、６年だそうです。

ワシントン到着の際は、車で迎えに来て下さいました。そして、その日のうちに、スーパーに連れて行ってくださいました。これは本当に助かりました。

次の日（土曜日）、家具を買いにつれて行って下さいました。私が腰が悪いことをよく理解されていて、重いものは一切もつなと、渡辺さんが全部持って下さいました。今まで色んな人に出会いましたが、会ってすぐに、私の腰についてこんなに気を使って下さる方は初めての気がします。大変に有り難く思っています。

Mr.Watanabe is a translator in BSKB. I owe him many obligations because he co-operated me when I contracted an apartment. He came Washington alone six years ago.

When I arrived in Washington DC, he waited for me at the airport. Then he took me to a supermarket by car on the same day. It was the greatest assistant for me.

Next day (Saturday), he took me to buy some furniture at IKEA. He really understands that I have a big trouble with my back. So, he said, you don’t bring a heavy load, then he took all my load. Although I have met many people until now, he is the most caring man. I was gratified indeed.

さて、日曜日、ショッピングにでもいこうかと、一人でガイドブックにのっているショッピングモールに行ってみました。Tysons Coner Center. 最寄りの駅からバスだったのですが、バスがなかったので、タクシーに乗りました。さて、行ってみたところ、さして買うものもなく、一通り歩いて帰ろうとなったんだけど、帰り方がわかりません。

バスの乗り場がわかんない。
タクシー乗り場がわかんない。

うーん。

カフェで途方にくれているとき、携帯電話が鳴りました。
渡辺さんです。
大丈夫かなと思って電話してみた。（渡辺さん）
大丈夫じゃありません（泣）！（あたし）
しょうがないな、助け出してあげようか。（渡辺さん）
と言って下さり、助け出していただきました。
なんというタイミング。
さらに、電化製品をまだ購入していなかったので、大型電気店につれていってくださり、ここでも全ての荷物を持っていただきました。

On Sunday, I went to a shopping moll which I found in guidebook to buy something. Tysons Coner Center. I planned to visit there by bus from the nearest station, but I took a cab because I found that it was more convenient. As I didn’t have something to buy, I decided to go back home. However, I did not know where I could take a bus or cab??

Uuuu..

When I was at a loss how to do, my cell phone rang!
It was Mr. Watanabe.
He said "I wonder if you are all right."
And I said "I am not all right at all!"
Then, he rescued me from the mall.
What a nice timing!
Further, I didn’t buy electrical appliances the day before, so, he took me to the big appliance stop and he carried every load.

金曜日に家具なしアパートに引っ越しです。こんなに沢山買い込んだ荷物は？
と泣きそうになっていたところ、渡辺さんが、金曜日の朝、仕事に行く前に、荷物を運んであげるよと言って下さいました。さらに、家具は全部組立式（ベットも・・）が金曜日に到着するのですが、金曜日の夜、仕事が終わったあと、またまた渡辺さんが組立手伝ってあげようと、言って下さいました。
すごいところは、全てについて、渡辺さんの方から申し出てくれるところです。なんと気のきく。
渡辺さんがいなかったら、あたしはいろんなことに途方に暮れて泣きながら日本に帰っていたのでは？？
本当にありがとうございます。
私も渡辺さんからうけた御恩を誰かに還元できるように頑張ります。

I will move to an unfurnished apartment on Friday. How can I carry these load??
When I was at a loss, he said that he would carry all load before going to the work. Further, my furniture is all ready-to-assemble and it will arrive on Friday. Mr Watanabe said he would help to set up all my furniture.

What a kind man he is.

I felt if he had not been beside me, I would have returned to Japan immediately.
I deeply appreciate him.
I will try to give someone a favor just like Mr. Watanabe did for me.
