国際免許を取りに行ってきました。
雨の中。

I obtained an international driver’s license.
In the rain.
At Samazu.
５×４ｃｍの写真（カラーでもモノクロでも可）とパスポートが必要です。
必要な書類を提出して、１０分くらいで出来上がりました。
あっけなく。
I needed a photo which size is 5×4cm (color and monochrome are both OK) and passport. After I handed necessary papers, international license came along in 10 minutes.
All too soon.
バージニアでは、住んでいるならば、１か月以内に
運転免許を取得しなさい、ということになっているようです。
ただし、免許をとらずに国際免許でレンタカーなんかを借りて旅行している人も多いそうです。
そういう人は車はもっていないそうですけど。
In Virginia, the driver’s license allegedly have to be obtained within one month. However, many people rent a car and go on trips by an international driver’s license without obtaining a driver’s license.
試験は、
標識１０問(全問正解)
交通ルール２５問(８割正解)
運転試験(適当に走るだけ)
というものだそうです。
The exam is the following.
Road signs :10 questions (answer all questions correctly)Traffic rules : 25 questions (answer 80% questions correctly)
身分証明書にもなるし、取りたいなぁと思いますけど、
日本では超ペーパードライバの私が
アメリカの交通ルールをマスタしてしかも英語の試験に合格するか
相当疑わしいです。。。
As the driver’s license can be used as an identification,
I hope to obtain a Virginia driver's license.. But,
I hardly drive in Japan.. Therefore it is doubtful for me to master the traffic roles in US and additionally to pass the Exam in English.

The day I leave for Washington DC is June 6th.
