Pão de Açucar

ボン・ジ・アスカールも、リオで最もメジャーな観光スポットの一つです。ウルカ海岸とベルメーリャ海岸の間にある小さな半島に突き出した岩。シュガーローフ（砂糖パン）という意味らしい。頂上には２つのロープウェイで行きます。頂上は、海抜３９６ｍ。ボン・ジ・アスカールは、グアナバラ湾に張り出しているので、海上からリオの町を見下ろしているような、素晴らしい景色が楽しめます。それにしても、なんでこんなでかい岩の上にロープウェイを作ろうと思ったのかとか、どうやってロープウェイを作ったんだとか、またまた色々考えちゃいますけど、おかげで素晴らしい眺めを体験できます。リオは、台風や地震がないそうですけど、おかげで、ロープウェイが可能なんですね。

Pao de Acucar is also one of the most popular sightseeing spots in Rio. It is an overhanging rock from a small peninsula which is located between Praia da Urca and Praia Vermelha.. Pao de Acucar means a sugar loaf. We can be the top of the rock by two ropeways. The top of the rock rises 396 meters out of the sea. As Pao de Acucar hangs over Baia de Guanabara, we can see such a nice view as if we looked down from where above the sea. Anyway, I also wonder why they would have thought to install two ropeways on such a big rock, how they could install them on the rock... But we can see a really nice view owing to them! I hear there is no typhoon and earthquake in Rio, so the ropeway can be installed.
